Working hours per month in Sweden, 2027
Sweden has 253 working days in 2027, which is 2,024 hours at full time on a 40-hour week. The table shows every month with its public holidays, part time and bridge days.

Hours are counted on the working days in practice, 8 hours a day. If Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve count as working days, full time is 2,048 hours for the year.

Public holidays and eves in 2027
The public holidays under Sweden's Public Holidays Act, and the three eves most workplaces take off. A holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday gives no extra weekday off.

Bridge days in 2027
A bridge day (klämdag) is a weekday squeezed between a day off and the weekend. It is not a holiday, and the table counts it as a normal working day, but one day of leave gives four days off in a row. The bridge days in 2027:
What is special about 2027
2027 has only 5 public holidays on weekdays. 1 May and Christmas Day fall on a Saturday, the National Day and Boxing Day on a Sunday, so none of them gives a weekday off. That is why 2027 has 256 working days by law, 2 more than 2026.
Easter is early: Easter Sunday is 28 March, so Good Friday and Easter Monday both land in March, and April gets 22 working days without a single public holiday. New Year's Day is a Friday and Epiphany a Wednesday, so January is the shortest month, with 19 working days and 152 hours.
Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are Fridays. December has 23 working days by law, more than any other month, but 21 in practice with the two eves off. The year's only bridge day is Friday 7 May, the day after Ascension Day.
Part time in 2027
At 75% the whole year is 1,518 hours, and at 50% it is 1,012 hours. For any other percentage, multiply the full-time hours by it: 80% of April's 176 hours is 140.8 hours.
How the table is counted
The table counts Monday to Friday minus the public holidays by law, and in practice also minus Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, at 8 hours per working day for full time.
